The NICU Bereavement Team at St Michael's Hospital have been recognised at the Mariposa Awards 2026.
The Mariposa Awards are organised by bereavement charity, Mariposa International, to recognise the work of bereavement teams across the UK. These awards were founded in 2018 in collaboration with actress and Mariposa ambassador, Kym Marsh.
At the awards ceremony in London, the Bereavement team was awarded a Special Recognition Award for Bereavement Team of the Year for their outstanding and inspiring work to support families experiencing baby loss. This recognition reflects the difference they make every day at NICU, St Michael's guiding parents through some of the toughest times they will ever experience.
In attendance were Bereavement Lead Midwives and Neonatal Nurses, Madeleine Holland, Elle Franks and Laura Turner.

About their award, the Bereavement Team said "Receiving a special recognition award for Bereavement Team of the Year is a real achievement. It is such a privilege to care for these families and we hope that we are able to provide them some comfort through such difficult times."
Madeleine Holland was also awarded the Archie Award for Bereavement Professional of the Year.
Reflecting on her award, Madeleine said "Being nominated for the Archie award was an honour, winning was totally unexpected but a very proud moment for me. We care for families through the darkest of times and the fact that a family was able to think about nominating me for an award is incredible."
