Our strategy, policy and SOPs

Our Research Strategy outlines our vision, to improve patient health through our excellence in world-class translational and applied health services research and our culture of innovation. We have four key priorities which drive a research-active culture in the organisation. They are underpinned by enablers, and are outlined on page 9 of the strategy document.

Our Research Policy describes the framework for clinical research which takes place within the Trust. It outlines our duties, roles, responsibilities and standards, and links to key legislation and guidance. 

Our suite of Research Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) underpins the Quality Management System we have in place to guide the high quality research we wish to conduct. The SOPs are supported by a range of guidance documents, templates and work instructions, all of which can be found here. The SOPs form a set of overarching procedures under which more detailed SOPs should be developed and maintained locally, as required, by divisional research teams.  The complexity, location and precise activity will determine what is required in each circumstance.
