Temporary closure of the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) front entrance

Improvement works to the pavement in front of the main Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) entrance are being carried out from 7pm on Thursday 22 February to Sunday 25 February. During this time, the front and revolving doors will not be in use.

For access to the hospital and the emergency department, please use the side entrance located next to the front entrance, which is underneath the building overhang as shown in the picture below. This is signposted as the ‘Emergency Department out of hours entrance’.

Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during the works.

During the works, please use the entrance at the side of the main doors. This is signposted as the ‘Emergency Department out of hours entrance’:

The side entrance has automatic sliding doors:

Once inside the side entrance, there are stairs on the left to the emergency department. At the end of the short corridor, you can turn left to access the lifts to the emergency department. Turn right to access the main BRI reception:
