Partial closure of Marlborough Hill from Wednesday 13 January
Last updated: 07/01/2021
Part of Marlborough Hill will be closed from Wednesday 13 January 2021 until Friday 29 January 2021. Diversions will be in place.
The road will be shut from the junction of Alfred Parade to the junction of Marlborough Hill Place. View the map and diversion details.
The work is taking place as part of the second phase of our new district heating network for the Trust as part of our efforts to be more sustainable.
The Trust has replaced its existing 1 megawatt (MW) Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engine with a larger 3.36MW CHP and district heating facility which will enable the organisation to efficiently generate more low carbon electricity and heat.
This will reduce the Trust's need to import grid electricity. The district heating also replaces steam, reducing heat losses from the heat network. The next phase is linking the system up to the remaining Trust buildings in Bristol city centre.
If you're travelling to our hospitals during the road closure please allow more time for your journey. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience at this time.
