Jayne Mee, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) Chair has today announced her intention to step down from her role at the end of March 2024, when her current term of office ends.

Following five years at UHBW, three of these as Chair, Jayne announced her decision to UHBW staff saying: “It has been an honour to have been Chair of such a fantastic organisation during what has been some of the most challenging times in the NHS, and I feel very privileged to have been part of our 14,000 strong team as, together, we worked our way through the COVID-19 Pandemic to ensure we were there for those who needed our care.

“Your determination to do the best for our patients is inspiring. Your kindness, compassion and humility shines through every day and makes UHBW the amazing organisation it is. I wish you all the very best for the future.

“Over the next six months, I remain fully committed to my role and I will continue to Chair the Trust and lead our Council of Governors with the same passion and determination that I always have done.”

Commenting on the announcement, Professor Eugine Yafele, UHBW chief executive added: “Jayne has demonstrated a tireless commitment to championing the best possible care for our patients, and the best possible experience for our staff. She has been a key member of the UHBW board, first as a Non-Executive Director and now as our Chair, and on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Jayne for everything she has contributed to UHBW and the wider NHS over the years.”
