Above & Beyond and Weston Area Charitable Trust have become one charity for the whole of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).

From Monday 4 October the charity will be known as Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity and will represent all ten hospitals within the Trust.

Paul Kearney, Chief Executive of Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re delighted that following the Trust’s merger last year to become UHBW, the charities have now been able to join forces too.

“As a team we have been supporting the city centre hospitals in Bristol for 47 years and the passion to support the NHS runs deeply through us all.

“There’s no greater feeling than the knowledge that we have made a difference to the lives of so many people. Having Weston General Hospital in our charity family will enable us to do great things for even more patients in Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and across the South West.”

Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity is committed in going above and beyond for all ten hospitals within UHBW. Working with the Trust, they continue to fund the little things that make a big difference to you all as well as larger scale projects and hospital developments that continue to keep our hospitals at the forefront of life-changing treatments and research.

Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity worked with the Bristol-based design agency Mr B & Friends on the vibrant new charity branding.

Paul said: “This is a really exciting opportunity and we wanted a new identity that radiates positivity and has a clear name to represent and reflect this partnership as we move forward.

“Mr B & Friends has really embraced our cause and this new look and we’re looking forward to being a bold, positive and energetic force across Bristol and Weston.”
