UHBW achieves Healthy Workplaces Gold Award

Our Workplace Wellbeing team is delighted to announce that UHBW has been awarded the North Somerset Healthy Workplaces Gold Award. This award recognises the Trust’s comprehensive and inclusive wellbeing programme, designed to support all colleagues across the organisation.
This award reflects the incredible work happening across our teams to create a culture where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.
"We are delighted to receive a gold award," stated Claire Haley, Workplace Wellbeing Manager. "This accolade reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of our colleagues who provide internal health, safety, and wellbeing services across all divisions, as well as our exceptional and proactive Workplace Wellbeing Advocates who offer direct peer support to their teams.”
The North Somerset Healthy Workplaces Gold Award acknowledges organisations that have excelled in promoting workforce health and wellbeing. Receiving this award represents the highest level of achievement, with the Trust standing out as one of only two organisations to earn gold status.
The programme entails a thorough self-assessment progressing through bronze, silver, and gold levels, with specific criteria focused on nine categories including ‘Leadership and Commitment’, ‘Compassionate, Inclusive, and Effective Line Management’, as well as ‘Equity, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging’.
"This recognition marks a significant milestone for UHBW," added Jenny Lewis, Chief People and Culture Officer. "Receiving this award aligns with this year's strategic objectives for workplace wellbeing as detailed in our annual plan. It also supports the Trust target to be in the top 10% of NHS organisations for colleagues recommending us as a place to work.
“This recognition marks an important step forward, and we remain dedicated to making sure all our colleagues feel supported and well at work — because your wellbeing is key to the high standard of care we strive to deliver."
The prestigious industry award was formally presented to the team during the annual Healthy Workplaces ceremony in Weston-super-Mare on 18 November 2025.
This recognition showcases the significant progress achieved at UHBW. We remain dedicated to further enhancing our wellbeing offer, ensuring colleagues receive the highest level of support across the organisation.
