A University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said:

“Earlier this afternoon (Monday 2 March), we responded to a fire incident on a single ward at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

Patients and staff in the affected area were evacuated safely.

Thank you to our colleagues and the emergency services for their quick response to this incident.

All services across our hospitals remain open.”
